RCEAL was a
freestanding department of the University of Cambridge, located in the
Faculty of English. Its 20 staff and 33 graduate students pursue an
interdisciplinary and theoretically-based approach to English and
Applied Linguistics. On the 1st of August 2011, the Research Centre for English and Applied
Linguistics (RCEAL) and the Department of Linguistics merged. A new
department entitled the Department of Theoretical and Applied
Linguistics has been created on the strength of the two former
departments. We invite all to come and explore the website of the new
department.
